Twitter poetry

A field of 140 charactersInevitably a creative self finds inspiration in the most strange places. Twitter seems so obvious and simple, and yet is endlessly complex. And so large and perversive, that if one tries to explain its functionality and its significance in a small context, he will completely and utterly fail. It takes a lot to offer an ample narrative of Twitter, whereas it takes far more less to use it. A Twitter user may compose a tweet (a text-based post) of up to 140 characters. Most of us are able to write short 140-char updates of our everyday living which Wikipedia categorizes as “Self-Promotion”, “Spam” or “Pointless babble”, a term that statistics find extremely accurate for 60% of the Twitter users. But who can really say that? Twitter is based in the notion of a “spontaneous” method of reproduction of information. “Pointless babble” is nevertheless, information. Kind of, everlasting one. It will stay in your profile page forever. That’s why tweets remind me of photographs. They capture this decisive moment in time where you were… spontaneous. And that’s why Twitter is ranked as one of the most popular websites worldwide. Because it allows you to be spontaneous.

I thought this very nature, makes Twitter a perfect means of inspiration. And without much effort or guilt I wrote my “pointless babble”. The one that you just read and what follows… :)

I tweet the ones not afraid to love with boundaries.
Because love grows on a 140 characters field every afternoon.
Never mind the bounden fields. You are the greenest forest.

It’s my #poetry, my first #poetweet (in two parts). Not at all “pointless”. Forget the #irony. Should I make it more obvious?

It’s #love.

#present.

It’s a love present in time.

Thank you Twitter for reflecting a culture’s way with the world!

And since this is my first post in English let me buy you a Twitter song as well… :)
